The record-breaking hot, dry summer is hopefully nearing an end…maybe. Outside our window, the dying yard has a slight green tinge from a random shower last night, but the bird bath is still bone dry!

A white-winged dove lands on the edge briefly and is then quickly gone. Seeing the coiled water hose outside, I know my first task of the day!
